What we have here is yet another fucking vampire killer. The only thing that makes this at all new and different is that the source comic is written in Korean.
Actually, from what I’ve heard second-hand, the source comic is far less derivative and formulaic than the film it was turned into... it apparently doesn’t even have vampires. And it’s set in the wild west. This generic movie that we’ve seen 27 times before, so I hear, was a vanity project pushed by Stu Levy, the CEO of the Manga importing company Tokyopop. This and other vanities by Mr. Levy bankrupted the company, with the US branch closing down at just about the time that the film hit theaters. So the ironic result of this movie is that the source comic which it ought to tie into is no longer available here.
