If ever there has been a franchise doomed to be milked for every drop that could be squozen out of it, the pizza-snarfing testudinates are it. This time they’re computer animated, and as far as one can tell from the ads, the personalities are much as in the saturday morning animated versions, with perhaps a little more effort at overt comedy. I have long feared that the original teenage ninja business model of grim deadpan metahumor will never be seen again... But wait, what’s this I hear? It sounds like this movie just might be bringing back a bit of that spirit... if so, I think it would be the first of the endless spinoffs of the teenage cartoon franchise cashcow to do so.
